Weekly Scavenger Hunt

This weekly scavenger hunt is just for fun.
Can you guess what the item is by looking at the zoomed in picture and the clue?
When you figure it out, try to find the real object that is being described.
If you would like, take a photo with the item and send it to us as child@pwpl.org.
Your photos might just end up on our website!

Week Six (May 25 – May 31)
Theme:  Celebrating Memorial Day

Clue: Display it, or wave it,  many have fought (or died) to save it.

Clue:  Five points in white, silver, or gold, they symbolize excellence and are proud to behold.

Clue: Not your real Uncle, but Uncle to us all,  he’s the symbol of our nation who stands erect and tall.

Clue:  Drop it down to hold the ship secure in bay.  Pull it up, we’re on our way.

Clue:   This flower remembers when wars did cease,  give thanks to the military who keep the peace.

Week Five (May 18- May 24)
Theme:  Celebrating World Baking Day

Clue:  Bake store bought dough or start from scratch, the aroma from the oven has no match.

Clue:  For stirring, whipping, or to blend,  this tool is your best “kitchen friend.”

Clue: 6, 12, or 18 cups of varied size, to bake cupcakes, muffins, and mini pies.

Clue:  At holidays, parties, bake sales and stores, deliciously decorated, and better than s’mores.

Clue:  Fry them, boil them, or bake them in a cake,  but if you drop them, what a mess you’ll make.

Theme:  Celebrating Bicycle Safety Month

Clue: To keep it on you might complain, but it will protect your brain.

 

Photo #2:

Clue: People need air wherever they are.  This will need air if you want to go far.

 

Photo #3:

Clue: Going uphill can be a strain.  Having these will ease the pain.

 

Photo #4:

Clue: For your books, your lunch or an extra sweater. Nothing carries your stuff much better.

Clue: A way of warning while you ride, for passersby to step aside.

Theme:  Traffic Safety
     (In honor of National Work Zone Awareness Week)

Photo #1:   Clue:  Eight sided, painted red and white; it is shiny for cars to see it at night.

Clue:  A ticket will get you if you park here, the space alongside must be kept clear.

Clue:  Not heeding this warning will cause you to be stopped by the wailing siren of a traffic cop.

Clue: It’s best if you perhaps didn’t turn there; the road you planned will lead you nowhere.

Clue: They’re round at the bottom, tapered narrow at the top, they’re placed for safety by a traffic cop.
