Local parents publish children’s book on Covid: Kelly Goes Back to School

Everyone is talking about children going back to school in September. How will it work? Will kids need masks? Will it be safe?  In a world of questions about school and coronavirus, Kelly Goes Back to School: More Science on Coronavirus provides answers for educators, parents, and children to approach the coming months bolstered by evidence, reassurance, and scientific information.

Kelly Goes Back to School: More Science on Coronavirus is a free book written by Harvard-trained physician and scientists Lauren Block MD MPH, and Adam Block PhD(both born and raised in Port); are parents to three children ages 5, 7, and 7 to help their own children navigate the safe transition back to school.

Kelly Goes Back to School: More Science on Coronavirus will be available to borrow from PWPL, and is currently available as a free PDF at www.kellystayshome.com and in soft cover on Amazon

Just as Kelly Stays Home: The Science of Coronavirus,(free PDF download Big Kid or Little Kid) featured in Newsday, NY1, and Psychology Today, reached over 13,000 families and children to discuss the science behind the pandemic, this new book will engage children to understand the rationale behind universal masking, handwashing, and distancing in school. Kelly Goes Back to School: More Science on Coronavirus explains scientific concepts such as diagnostic and antibody testing, vaccine trials, and contact tracing through clear language and beautiful illustration.
