Community Gallery Exhibit - Flora and Fauna - Photographs by Lisa Stancati

This exhibition celebrates the beauty of plants and our connections with the natural world.  Lisa Stancati holds a BFA in Photography from the State University of New York College at Purchase.  She teaches photography at Willam A. Shine Great Neck South High School.  Ms. Stancati received a Guggenheim Fellowship in photography and a New York State Council on the Arts Creative Individual Grant.  Her work has been included in numerous exhibitions and publications.  She is in the collection of the Brooklyn Museum and the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego.  The Flora and Fauna exhibit will be on display from October 2 through October 31st in the Library’s Community Gallery.  There will be a reception on Saturday, October 7 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Hagedorn Meeting Room.  Join us for this special event with photographer Lisa Stancati, which will include refreshments as well as information about native plants.  Students from William A. Shine Great Neck South High School environmental clubs will give away handmade plantable seed paper while supplies last.

This exhibit is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Huntington Arts Council.
