Macmillan, one of the world's largest publishing companies, no longer supports your right to get the books you want, when you want, from your local public library. Beginning November 1, they plan to limit each library to ONE COPY of new e-books for the first two months of release.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten
We invite you to read 1,000 books with your child before he or she begins kindergarten. The concept is simple, but the rewards are priceless. Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to read 1,000 books (yes, you can repeat books!) before your child starts kindergarten.

Women’s History in Port Washington
To celebrate Women's History Month, we remember Virginia "Ginger" Marshall Martus (1930-2017), an incredible resident of Port Washington. Pictured here in 1984 and as a child in the 1930s, Ginger was a nautical historian, born and raised in Port Washington.
